Manual focus wide-angle lens made for the Hasselblad V system medium format cameras by Carl Zeiss introduced in 1982. An improved version of the older C-style 40mm Distagon with a Prontor CF shutter and new lens barrel design that allowed for a smaller and lighter design. Uses a floating lens design (FLE) that improves image quality at close distances. This is achieved by rotating a second focus ring on the lens to adjust the air space between the front group (elements 1 and 2) and the rest of the system. The ring has three settings: ∞ - 2m, 2m - 0.9m, and 0.9m - 0.5 m. Was supplied with an adapter (40693) for mounting accessories. Uses a retaining ring to attach the 93mm drop-in filters (the ring screws into the accessory adapter). Metal body available in black.
