Our Story

We started because production teams deserve better. Better gear, better spaces, better support — and a partner who actually picks up the phone. Everything we've built since 2013 comes back to one idea: when your production is on the line, you should have a team behind you that treats it like their own.

Founded in Toronto in 2013, Neighbourhood started strictly as studio rentals. Since then, we've expanded to become a full-service creative hub offering equipment rentals, on-site and off-site facilities, Canada-wide delivery, and a dedicated team of professionals committed to bringing your vision to life.

We work with the world's leading brands and creators, from global corporations to emerging artists. Our mission is simple: provide the spaces, equipment, expertise, and support that empower creative excellence.

Our Journey

2013

Founded in Toronto

Neighbourhood Studios opens its doors as a studio rental space in the heart of Toronto, providing creative professionals with a home for their shoots and events.

2014

Profoto Authorized Repair Center

Certified as an authorized Profoto repair center — the only one in the region — adding professional equipment servicing to our capabilities with factory-trained technicians and genuine parts.

2015

Expanded to Equipment Rentals

Responding to client demand, we launched our equipment rental division with an initial inventory of camera, lighting, and grip gear.

2018

Moved to 24 McGee Street

Relocated to our current headquarters in Toronto's Studio District, giving the city 6,000 square feet of studio space and room to grow our equipment inventory.

2019

First Vehicle Added to the Fleet

Added our first 3-ton truck to the fleet, launching equipment delivery services across Toronto and laying the groundwork for full GTA coverage.

2020

Etobicoke Warehouse & Fleet Expansion

Opened our Etobicoke equipment warehouse and expanded our delivery fleet, covering the entire Greater Toronto Area with zone-based pricing and 24/7 availability. The warehouse enabled us to grow to over 1,200 pieces of professional equipment.

2022

Coast-to-Coast Delivery

Expanded the warehouse and launched nationwide equipment delivery, shipping professional gear coast to coast across Canada and becoming a truly national equipment resource.

2024

Acquired FilmPlus Photo Supply

Purchased FilmPlus Photo Supply and merged it into our business, adding new and unique inventory pieces to our rental catalog and expanding our expendables sales division.

2026

Full-Service Rental House

Today, Neighbourhood is a complete production partner — studios, equipment, delivery, repairs, and full-service production support — trusted by the world's leading brands and independent creators alike.

Our full-service production department can run your shoot — video or stills — from start to finish. From pre-production, budgets, locations, casting, crew, equipment and post-production. We handle every detail so you can focus on the creative vision.

Studio & Event Space

Expertly designed studios that accommodate everything from intimate shoots to dramatic events. State-of-the-art facilities in the heart of Toronto, with professional support and all the amenities your production needs.

Equipment Rental

Over 1,200 pieces of professional camera, lighting, grip, and audio equipment from leading brands like ARRI, Sony, Canon, Profoto, and more. Available for daily, weekly, and 4-week rentals with tiered pricing.

Canada-Wide Delivery

Equipment delivery anywhere in Canada. Locally, our fleet of Metris vans, Sprinter vans, and Hino cube trucks covers the GTA with zone-based pricing, 24/7. Nationally, we deliver by vehicle — having driven as far as British Columbia, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland — and ship airfreight anywhere in the country with WestJet Cargo.

Equipment Repairs

As the only Profoto Authorized Repair Center in the region, we service professional lighting and camera equipment. Factory-trained technicians, genuine parts, and fast turnaround times.
