We believe access to professional equipment shouldn't be the barrier that stops a good project from getting made. Neighbourhood Community Access offers no-cost equipment rentals to emerging creators and organizations from underrepresented communities — vetted, application-based, and designed to put real tools in the hands of people doing real work.
How It Works
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. If approved, you'll receive a confirmed booking with no rental fees. A standard damage deposit applies, and proof of insurance (or our damage waiver) is required at pickup. That's it.
Who Can Apply
You may be eligible if you identify as:
- An Indigenous, Black, or other racialized creator
- A person with a disability
- An LGBTQ+ creator or organization
- A low-income creator (self-declared)
- A student enrolled in a film, photography, or media program
Projects must be non-commercial and based in Canada. Priority is given to work with a clear creative or community purpose.
What's Available
Standard camera, lighting, and grip packages — the same professional equipment used by our broadcast and streaming clients. We'll work with you on the kit based on your project needs and what's available during your requested dates.
"We built this business on the belief that great work comes from everywhere. This program exists to make sure equipment isn't the thing that stops it."
